7 Natural Cleaning Hacks

7 Natural Cleaning Hacks

Do you want to clean your office but don’t like the idea of spreading harmful chemicals around? Fear not! These seven natural cleaning hacks will keep your surfaces clean from bugs, dirt, and nasty chemicals.

Baking soda

Use one cup of vinegar with half a cup of baking soda mixed with hot water to clean your office toilets. Let this mixture soak in the bowl, then flush the toilet and clean the seat.

Another toilet cleaning alternative is mixing 15 drops of essential oil with a cup of baking soda. Leave the mixture to soak in the bowl for 30 minutes, then scrub with a toilet brush before flushing.

Vinegar

Make your own glass cleaner with white vinegar, distilled water, and a few drops of essential oil shaken together.

Lemons

To clean your office microwave naturally, follow these steps:

1. Microwave a bowl of water with fresh lemon juice (or rinds) for 3 – 5 minutes or until boiling.
2. Wait 5 minutes before opening the door to allow the steam to condensate on the walls.
3. Remove the bowl with the lemon and wipe down the microwave walls.

You could also follow the same process but instead use 15 drops of lemon essential oil and water. Microwave this mixture on high for 5 – 10 minutes, wait for 5 minutes and then wipe the walls down.

To clean and deodorise the waste disposal, just pop in a quartered lemon or lime with the water running.

Vodka

Blot a freshly stained area with a soft white cloth to absorb as much spilled liquid as possible. Then pour vodka onto a soft, clean, white cloth and dab it on the stain. Leave the wet cloth on top of the stain for a few minutes. Then remove the cloth and leave the area to dry. This cleaning hack works best on wine and grass stains.

Olive oil

Olive oil can be used to get rid of any dirty spots on stainless steel products such as pots, pans, and appliances. Put the olive oil on a soft cloth and rub it in a circular motion to clean the stainless-steel product or appliance.

Coffee filters

Use coffee filters to dust monitors and screens. This solution works much better than using towels because it doesn’t leave behind fibres.

Pillowcases

Try using a pillowcase to clean ceiling fans. Just slip it between the blades and then wipe them down one at a time.
